  After four years circa, OMG, I am back to writing something in Forks Blog. I have been occupied with many issues of my private life and it was hard to write something here. My return is to show two old collections of brushes to GIMP: The oldest brushes were made between 2008-2015 and the set for GIMP 2.10, was not used in this final release.  I have updated the links to the sets that are directly on the Tool Packs menu in the left section of this blog. Fisherman - Gustavo Deveze Now, we have a new channel to discuss Digital Painting . Patrick David and members of PIXLS .US are supporting Digital Painting Channel. The inaugural post is dedicated to  +gustavo deveze and the statements of this new category at PIXLS.US . In many of my works I use always the same palette... when I need a new swatch I add it in this reference palette. Um destes está relacionado com o GIMP e o futuro deste programa de edição de imagens mas também de pintura digital. No qual, estou tentando participar ativamente da discussão nas mailings lists e de vez em quando arrisco algumas coisas no IRC. Mas sinceramente, tanto as mailings lists quanto o IRC são coisas bem difíceis de engolir para pessoas que tem uma atividade mais criativa ou artística... não são as ferramentas naturais destas áreas. Nestes últimos tempos tenho trabalhado bastante com ilustrações e tenho tido pouco tempo pra escrever aqui... mas de qualquer modo tenho feito pesquisas que unem a pesquisa sobre pinceis úmidos para o MyPaint com a possibilidade de criarmos pinturas com texturas no Gimp. Ilustração para o Observatório da Imprensa. Desenho à lápis digitalizado e cores aplicadas no MyPaint com pinceis pastosos e ou úmidos. De fato nos meus trabalhos de ilustração que tenho feito para a Folha de São Paulo, para o blog do Matheus Pichonelli no Yahoo e matérias do Mauro Malin do Observatório da Imprensa... tenho usado de alguma forma os pinceis e algumas técnicas para colocar texturas nas minhas ilustrações. Nestas ilustrações tenho trabalhado com uma metodologia hibrida, fazendo os desenhos à lápis e depois passando-os para digital com o scanner. Ilustração feita para um artigo do Mauro Malin no Observatório da Imprensa - 2014 - MyPaint e Gimp. Nos ultimos meses o blog tem estado bem parado e sem novas matérias... mas ao mesmo tempo estive trabalhando para, durante este ano, ter coisas novas e material interessante de discussão quanto as técnicas de pintura digital em ambiente de software livre. Aproveito para colocar algumas imagens dos ultimos trabalhos que realizei no MyPaint utilizando um set que criei para pintura pastosa e úmida. Ainda precisam ser melhorados, mas já consegui produzir trabalhos oficiais que foram para blogs de jornalistas e até parou na Folha de São Paulo. Rough para uma matéria a ser ilustrada na Folha - MyPaint. Os pinceis são bem interessantes e ao mesmo tempo marotos... com são certas técnicas que dão margem ao imprevisivel (aquarela e meios pastosos ou liquidos). Aqui embaixo tem o trabalho final aonde boa parte dos recursos da pintura foram exclusivamente obtidos com os pinceis do MyPa...

Gimp e a modelação de técnicas úmidas Boa parte deste ano foi tomada pelo desenvolvimento de técnicas úmidas para o Gimp... produzí uma longa serie de textos, anotações e amostras de como poderia ser resolvida a técnica no Gimp. Notei também que para disponibilizar todo este material vão ser necessárias muitas revisões e a criação de presets bem enxutos para facilitar o uso como um todo. Experimentando os processos de watering, usando borracha e carimbo com textura para cancelar ou abrandar as manchas. Muitas das ferramentas de pintura do Gimp resolvem muitas das questões da pintura digital mais tradicional em geral... no que se refere a pintura úmida no entanto, necessitamos de um trabalho adicional ou de uma metodologia que possa facilitar as passagens e as ferramentas neste sentido. Por exemplo, a Borracha, o Carimbo com pattern incorporado, podem ser usados como uma espécie de tampão para...

Ilustração feita usando parcialmente os efeitos destes novos pinceis aquareláveis no MyPaint. Nos últimos dois meses tenho trabalhado alguns dias na exploração das técnicas úmidas no MyPaint. Os atuais sets dedicados ao tema são muito interessantes... mas funcionam principalmente com relação ao smudge mas sem produzir o efeito de transparencia e mistura das cores particular destas técnicas. A minha pesquisa, então, investiga principalmente a capacidade de sobreposição de transparencias e mistura das cores -- quem sabe no futuro teremos no MyPaint a possibilidade de blend diretamente no pincel... alargando assim as possibilidades -- de qualquer o programa tem já recursos bem avançados e interessantes que podem resolver bastante estas duas questões. Quem tem acompanhado os trabalhos que venho fazendo para o Gimp, quanto às técnicas úmidas, sabe que estou interessado em processos mais próximos ao trabalho real e sem muitas peripécias... ou seja, os pinceis foram pensados para resol...
