Desenhando texturas ou patterns com software livre

Na Pintura Digital vivemos usando texturas, as vezes naturais as vezes padrões decorativos... eu achei então interessante escrever algo sobre isto e disponibilizar uma breve bibliografia de livros do inicio do século XIX e XX principalmente.

Esta é uma bibliografia de livros sobre a projetação e desenho de texturas em geral, alguns mais especificos como o dos Lewis Day. A pesquisa foi feita ao longo dos anos de 2008~2010, principalmente colecionando livros livres que estão em Archive.org. Esta bibliografia também foi publicada num grupo sobre o assunto que mantenho no Flickr [Patterns and around].

Para produção de patterns ou texturas podemos muito bem usar software livres, tais como o Gimp, o MyPaint e o Inkscape. Durante algum tempo em 2009~2010 estudei com uma certa intensidade e constância a projetação de Patterns com Gimp, Mypaint e Inkscape. Inclusive o Gimp e o Photoshop, tem um comando super-útil para a realização de patterns, o Offset (simplesmente clicando o Ctrl+O), que faz os cortes na imagem para produzir um padrão de repetição... veja os trabalhos do Nate Williams, aonde ele usa basicamente o Photoshop com este recurso... eu pessoalmente aprecio o trabalho dele e vale a pena conferir.
